La Dame Du Lac

So for all my French friends out there, this is nothing new, but as I began studying parkour recently, I found one of the most interesting things about the sport is its unique history. Not only was it almost completely founded by a small group of guys (incl. David Belle and Sebastien Foucan) in Lisses, but it seemed to center around this iconic and beautiful architectural climbing structure there called La Dame Du Lac, that is The Lady of the Lake for all you English speakers. That this that an entire sport, this lifestyle and this discipline, can all be traced back to a small town, a small group of people and almost exclusively to this monumental sculpture is one of the most fascinatingly beautiful things. Its like the holy grail for traceurs. They take pilgrimages there to learn and train.

Here is the classic David Belle video for those not in the know.

Walkie Talkie Tees

You may have seen Walkie Talkie Tees on myspace, but go check out their website. This t-shirt company was created by an old friend of mine, and the shirts are awesome. In fact, I'm wearing one as I type this! How nice to find some true humor that doesn't rely on inside jokes and obscure pop culture references. Printed on high quality American Apparel shirts and branded with a sweet custom label, these shirts are the business. Who knows, maybe someday Walkie Talkie will produce those mythical Tally t-shirts everyone has been asking about. Check out Walkie Talkie Tees, and maybe buy a couple.

Magic Smurf Berries

So I just heard about these Magical Berries. Yes they are rare and expensive. No they are not actually THE Smurf berries. Theyre also referred to as Miracle fruit. But what happens when you eat them is that they contain a glycoprotein that binds to your tastebuds and make salty and sour things actually taste sweet. They alter your tastebuds for up to a half hour or more. Crazy! Theyre like real Smurf berries, kind of! If you want to buy some and you are in the UK you can get them here http://www.berrytrip.co.uk/ or pretty much anywhere you can order here http://www.miraclefruitworld.com/

Virtual On Cyber Troopers and Delta Inc

What can I say about this game. It was originally released back in old 1995. SEGA had some great early work with 3D models and polygon mapping, and Virtual On represents some of the most well designed of that work. The controls and maneuvers are simple, and this robot piloting simulator quickly turns into a strategy exercise all about timing. For those fortunate enough to take the joysticks of these popped out mechs into their own hands in a live arcade setting, there awaits some of the most fast-paced and beautifully animated pixelated mesh triangle action sequences. If you can, find an old Dreamcast and purchase the twin sticks on ebay. Throw in some plywood and spray paint and you can make your own robot pilot simulator! Thats what Delta did.

Graffiti artist Delta Inc. did these custom game cabinets AND designed the game as well. What a badasss!! Check out some of his other works. The furniture and installations are amazing.
